All guests who attend the screening will also receive a complimentary ticket to the Cavs preseason game at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Friday, October 8th vs. Indians Pacers.

“Hosting the “In The Heights” movie screening is important to our entire Rock Entertainment Group because it provides another opportunity to help bring our community together around one common interest,” said Cavaliers Vice President of Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement Kevin Clayton. “Not only does the screening celebrate the LatinX community and highlight their culture, it allows for people across all dimensions of diversity in our region to come together in one central location here in downtown Cleveland. This is just one, fun point of engagement as we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Events like this are also a reflection of our core commitment to remain authentic and engaged with the kaleidoscope of communities that are part of The Land, especially as they celebrate their respective heritage.”

The Hispanic Heritage Month movie screening is made possible thanks to a collaboration of many Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse community partners in the LatinX community, including:

  • Hispanic Star (Cleveland)
  • AmMore Consulting
  • NEO Hispanic Business Center
  • Young Latino Network
  • Esperanza
  • Hispanic Police Officers Association
  • Metro West
  • Julia de Borgos Cultural Arts Center
  • Comite Mexicano

100+ Latinos Cleveland Must Know

AmMore Consulting, a company dedicated to supporting organizations becoming Latin ready, recently announced the second class of 100+ Latinos Cleveland Must Know, which includes the Cavs very own Rafael Hernandez Brito. This year, the program was also presented by The Hispanic Star, a nationwide collective effort to unify Hispanics, bring solutions to help them overcome barriers they face, and positively change the perception of the community.

A special VIP reception for this year’s honorees will be held at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Wednesday, prior to the movie screening.

Commitment to the Hispanic Promise

This month, Rock Entertainment Group also signed the Hispanic Promise, a first-of-its-kind national pledge to hire, promote, retain and celebrate Hispanics in the workplace. Launched at the World Economic Forum in 2019, the Hispanic Promise is a result of the joint effort of multiple Hispanic Organizations as a call to action for business leaders and companies of Corporate America to create a more inclusive work environment for Hispanics. The Cavaliers are the second professional sports organization and first in the NBA to sign the Hispanic Promise.
