Security / Building Policies & Procedures

Creating a safe and secure environment for all of our guests and employees is a high priority at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

It is our responsibility to make sure the people who spend time at this facility are safe and secure. We will take the necessary measures to provide an environment where our guests can have a good time without concern.

For the overall safety and welfare of a minor, it is at the discretion of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse to require that children 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent and/or guardian to gain entry into select ticketed or non-ticketed events. For events when this policy will be enforced, advance notice will be provided. No refunds will be issued.

Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse security personnel reserve the right to determine the method of security checks as deemed necessary including the use of metal detectors, the search of jackets, clothing and other items.

Updated Entry Policy

Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is pleased to introduce our new streamlined screening process for entry into the building. To ensure a quick and efficient entry, please keep all items in your pockets as you pass through our security checkpoint.

Guests carrying purses larger than a clutch, as well as diaper bags or medical bags, should use the designated X-ray lane upon arrival.

Smoking Policy

Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is a completely smoke-free venue. This includes the outside areas immediately surrounding the venue as well. Please also note that individuals attending events who leave the FieldHouse after entering will not be able to re-enter. These policy updates reflect the venue’s continuing commitment to provide the most enjoyable and secure environment possible during all events.  

Prohibited Items

The following is a non-exhaustive list of items that cannot be brought into Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse:

  • Aerosol cans

  • Audio/video recording devices including Go Pros, Google Glass, Spectacles, Smart Glasses, etc.

  • Backpacks, large bags/purses (bags/purses must be 14” x 14” x 6” or smaller and fit under seat without obstruction of aisles), or sealed packages of any kind (including gifts for performers).

  • Balloons

  • Bats and clubs

  • Beach balls

  • Bottles, cans, or coolers.

  • Cameras - Any professional and/or commercial camera with interchangeable or detachable lenses.

  • Drones

  • Facial masks that are not easily removable.

  • Fireworks

  • Flags

  • Frisbees

  • Garments/clothing with explicit language, profanity or derogatory characterization directed toward any person. Determination of appropriate messaging is at sole discretion of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

  • iPads or other similar electronic devices (with the exception of Cavs, Monsters, and MAC Tournament games).

  • Laser pointers

  • Long chains on clothing, wallets, or otherwise.

  • Illegal substances

  • Noise makers including whistles, cowbells, foghorns/airhorns, plastic horns, vuvuzelas, didgeridoos, or bagpipes.

  • Outside food or beverages. Exceptions are made for medical reasons, baby food and reasonable children’s snacks (crackers, raisins, juice boxes, etc.).

  • Reuseable food or drink containers including but not limited to popcorn buckets and souvenir cups.

  • Selfie sticks, poles, tripods, monopods, and missile-like objects that can be thrown.

  • Signs/Posters with explicit language, profanity or derogatory characterization directed toward any person. Determination of appropriate messaging is at sole discretion of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Permittance/regulations are on a show-by-show basis. Please refer to the “Know Before You Go” email communication this is distributed 24-48 hours to ticket holders prior to each game or event.

  • Weapons of any kind including firearms, mace, pepper spray, tasers, stun guns, and knives of all sizes.

Additionally, any items Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse deems, in its discretion, to be dangerous. Use of any prohibited item will be confiscated without return.

 

In accordance with Ohio’s “concealed carry” law and the right for private entities to ban handguns on their premises, firearms and other weapons of any kind are strictly forbidden on the premises of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

Permitted Items

  • Purses and diaper bags are permitted and will be inspected by security
  • Binoculars and cell phones are permitted and subject to security inspection
  • Umbrellas are permitted as long as they fit neatly under the guest’s seat (cannot exceed 16") and do not create an obstruction or safety hazard to the seating area.

Guest Code of Conduct

Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is committed to fostering a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable sports & entertainment experience. All guests, patrons, and attendees must adhere to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse’s Code of Conduct.

  • Players and artists will respect and appreciate each and every fan.
  • Guests will be treated in a consistent, professional, respectful, and courteous manner by all arena and team personnel.
  • Guests will enjoy the sports and/or entertainment experience free from disruptive behavior, including foul or abusive language or obscene gestures.
  • Guests will treat all NBA, NBAGL, AHL, Artist, and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse staff and personnel in a professional and courteous manner, including speaking with respect and respecting the personal space of all staff and personnel. 
  • Guests will comply with all instructions and requests from Cleveland Police Department, Cleveland Fire Department, NBA, NBAGL, AHL, Artist, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse staff, including health and safety protocols and emergency response procedures. 
  • Guests shall not take any unauthorized photos or video recordings. 
  • Guests shall not interfere with the game, event, the performers, or the athletes in any way.
  • Guests shall not engage in any unruly, illegal, disruptive, harassing, threatening or violent behavior, including fights, altercations, or throwing objects. Guests shall refrain from using foul, abusive, vulgar, profane, obscene or demeaning language or gestures. Language, gestures, behavior, clothing, signs, or other personal expression that negatively reference or demean a specific race, ethnicity, gender/gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability status, or other identity-based characteristic will not be tolerated. Such conduct is strictly prohibited regardless of whether it directly or indirectly references a particular individual or a group of individuals. 
  • Guests may not bring in any prohibited items, including flags, pyrotechnic devices, fireworks, or weapons of any kind including, but not limited to, knives, pepper spray, stun guns, brass knuckles, and firearms. The full list of Prohibited Items may be found by selecting the "Prohibited Items" option above.
  • Guests are not permitted to wear, have, or display signs, symbols, images or banners: (i) that may be considered obscene, indecent, inappropriate, vulgar, discriminatory, disrespectful, or a tool to be used for incitement; (ii) for commercial purposes; or (iii) for electioneering, campaigning, or advocating for or against any candidate, political party, legislative issue, or government action.
  • Guests are required to wear appropriate clothing at all times.  Clothing that is excessively torn, tattered, or revealing clothing that exposes undergarments or an inappropriate amount of skin is not permitted. Clothing that conceals identity (such as non-medical masks) is not permitted. 
  • Guests will promptly return a ball that enters the stands. 
  • Guests will not smoke, vape, or use other smokeless devices in Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse has a no re-entry policy. Guests who exit to smoke, vape, or use other smokeless devices will not be permitted to re-enter the building. 
  • Possession or use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited.
  • Guests will consume alcoholic beverages in a responsible manner. Intervention with an impaired, intoxicated, or underage guest will be handled in a prompt and safe manner. Management reserves the right to deny entry to the venue, issue an ejection and/or refuse service to guests displaying visible signs of impairment or intoxication. 
  • Alcoholic beverages purchased inside Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse may not be taken outside or removed from the premises under any circumstances, in compliance with state liquor laws.
  • Guests will sit only in their ticketed seats and show their tickets when requested. Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse does not permit unauthorized seat re-locations or “seat jumping.”
  • Guests are permitted to sit or stand during an event if they are only occupying the area in front of their ticketed seat. Standing in aisles and/or on chairs is strictly prohibited.
  • Guests must not enter or attempt to enter any “off limit” area such as the court, ice, stage area, backstage.  Guests will not enter or attempt to enter any area for which they do not have proper credentials or tickets.
  • Guests are not permitted to exit and re-enter the building after the scanning of tickets. 

Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse staff has been trained to intervene where necessary to help ensure that the above expectations are met, and guests are encouraged to report any inappropriate behavior to the nearest usher, security guard or guest services staff member. Guests who not to adhere to this Code of Conduct will be subject to penalty including but not limited to, refusal to allow entry to the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, ejection without refund, revocation of all tickets, and/or prevention from attending future events at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Guests may also be in violation of local laws and ordinances resulting in possible arrest and prosecution. 

All decisions of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse staff related to this Code of Conduct are final.

NBA Arena Guidelines

The National Basketball Association issued to all teams a revised set of Arena Guidelines, according to NBA Deputy Commissioner and COO Russ Granik. The Guidelines include policies dealing with the deployment of security personnel, alcohol sales and a new Fan Code of Conduct.
