WMJI Majic 105.7 FM announced today it will host the 2015 Moondog Coronation Ball on Saturday, April 4th at 7:00 p.m. at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. This year’s event will mark the 63nd Anniversary of the original Moondog Coronation Ball held at the Cleveland Arena in 1952. Moondog 2015 will be presented by Runyon & Sons Roofing.

The 2015 Moondog Coronation Ball is part of a series of events and programming celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and the return of the Induction Ceremony to Cleveland. Throughout 2015, the Museum will host a number of events, including a 20th anniversary celebration in Fall 2015.

The 2015 Moondog Coronation Ball will feature musical legends Smokey Robinson, Mark Lindsay, Randy Bachman and B.J Thomas.

Tickets for the 2015 Moondog Coronation Ball are $68.75, $53.75 and $38.75, and go on sale Friday, January 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Box Office, online at theQarena.com, charge-by-phone at 888-894-9424 and all northern Ohio Discount Drug Marts.

Smokey Robinson
Once pronounced by Bob Dylan as America’s “greatest living poet,” acclaimed singer-songwriter Smokey Robinson’s career spans over 4 decades of hits. He has received numerous awards including the Grammy Living Legend Award, NARAS Lifetime Achievement Award, Honorary Doctorate (Howard University), Kennedy Center Honors and the National Medal of Arts Award from the President of the United States. He has also been inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame.

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Robinson founded The Miracles while still in high school. The group was Berry Gordy’s first vocal group, and it was at Robinson’s suggestion that Gordy started the Motown Record dynasty. Their single of Robinson’s “Shop Around” became Motown’s first #1 hit on the R&B singles chart. In the years following, Robinson continued to pen hits for the group including “You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me,” “Ooo Baby Baby,” “The Tracks of My Tears,” “Going to a Go-Go,” “More Love,” “Tears of a Clown” (co-written with Stevie Wonder), and “I Second That Emotion.”

Mark Lindsay
In addition to being the voice of Paul Revere & The Raiders, Mark Lindsay, with his good looks & pony tail, was the very image of the band. In 1965, The Raiders were the featured performers of "Where the Action Is," Dick Clark's immensely popular weekday ABC Television music show.

The Raiders owned the 1966 charts with hits like "Just Like Me", "Kicks", "Hungry", and "Good Thing", which Mark also wrote. During that time they were the top earning artists for Columbia Records. In 1970 after he left The Raiders, Mark had a very successful solo recording career with a pair of top 40 hits "Arizona" and "Silver Bird" as well as 3 best-selling albums. Mark Lindsay has sold over 50 million records and had 17 Top 40 Hits, including "Arizona," "Kicks," "Just Like Me," "Indian Reservation,” "Good Thing," "Steppin’ Out," "Him or Me (What's It Gonna Be?)" and "Hungry."  

Randy Bachman
Randy Bachman has become a legendary figure in the rock n’ roll world through his talents as a guitarist, songwriter, performer and producer, earning over 120 gold and platinum album/singles awards around the world for performing and producing. His songwriting has garnered him the coveted #1 spot on radio playlists in over 20 countries and he has amassed over 40 million records sold. His songs have been recorded by numerous other artists and placed in dozens of television, movie and commercial soundtracks. His music has provided a veritable soundtrack of the last 30 years of popular music.

His first hit, “Shakin' All Over,” came in 1965 with his band The Guess Who, and scored him his first taste of radio success atop the Billboard charts. The Guess Who went on to virtually own the pop charts with an unprecedented run of 5 million-selling singles, a direct result of Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings’ collaborative, surefire songwriting.
